A few weeks ago Cath and I drove up to the Hunter Valley for a debaucherous weekend away and to celebrate 1 year of annoying each other (jokes!). I also wanted to check out the area in preparation for True and Sam’s Hunter Valley wedding next February.
After a lazy afternoon basking in the pleasantly warm sunshine, we rested up and prepared for a full day wine tour. From large, established wineries such as Brokenwood and Tulloch to wineries running literally from a tin shed (but still producing an amazing drop), we sampled Shiraz, Verdelho, and everything in between. By the end we fancied ourselves as experts, freely passing judgement on every wine we tasted.
It wasn’t wine pickin’ season but the view was beautiful nonetheless:
Wine tasting in a tin shed… seriously tasty Rose!

The following day we visited the Hunter Valley gardens, the Smelly Cheese shop and Tempus Two, and the famous Blue Tongue brewery, and drank beer in the sun while listening to a wicked Spanish guitarist as well as some cruisy vocal house. It felt like summer!
Hunter Gardens… I’d love to photograph a wedding here some day. It’s a colour overdose. Still, Cath was a pretty cute model!

The best thing was, the Hunter wines we tried weren’t packed with preservatives so we woke up with absolutely no hangover!
