I thought I’d share with you a few wedding venues I’ll be photographing at for upcoming weddings this year and next. I’m particularly excited about the interstate and overseas weddings coming up! Locally, I’ll be shooting at Concord function centre, Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens (past Photos by Jay Wedding), Watersedge, Waterview Bicentennial Park Homebush Bay, Grand Paradiso Room Fairfield,...

e-session True and Sam – Luna Park and Milsons Point, North Sydney

Prepare your eyes for a colour overdose. True and Sam picked Luna Park for their e-session and I couldn’t be more excited. The seemingly endless array of colourful walls, stairwells and rides made me feel like a kid in a toy store. Their personalities were a perfect match, too – they were up for all kinds of silliness which resulted in some great images. Thanks to Rachael from Harbour City Films for coming along and capturing some great video which I’ll try and post up here soon. The grand prize – a whoopee...

Rohan and Rennie – Indian Wedding Post Shoot

Last week I went with Rohan and Rennie to Cabarita park for some post-wedding images. If you remember Chris and I went to Fiji in February to photograph their Indian wedding. It was a really windy day and I felt sorry for Rennie running around in her heavy saree! But we soldiered on and got some beautiful images in the late afternoon light. Hide and seek: Along the pretty beach: They could be models! Just mucking around...

e-session – Sean and Miranda – Petersham, Sydney

Sean and Miranda are bound by music – Sean plays in a band and Miranda sings at weddings. Down-to-earth and unassuming, they were happily led through a big field near their home, as I made them perform all kind of acrobatics for my own amusement (but they seemed to be enjoying it too!). For the photographers: This was my first official photo shoot with my beautiful new Canon EOS 5D Mark II, and I was blown away by the clarity and quality of the images and video. This is my first attempt at high-definition video, feedback...

Cafe Birkenhead Wedding – Eddie and Julie – St Mary’s Balmain and

After some fun at the e-session in February, it was time to get (not so) serious for the Big Day. After cracking it up with the boys at Eddie’s place, I drove to Julie’s where getting-ready mayhem was well underway. After the ceremony in the breathtaking St Mary’s Cathedral in Balmain, we chased the fast-fading winter light at the edge of Balmain with some magnificent city views and partied on at Sydney’s best kept secret location: Cafe Birkenhead. Eddie looking super sharp: The flower girls were so cute and spritely...

Mandalay Room Wedding – Scott and Michelle

Scott and Michelle have been living in the UK for the past few years. They found and booked me over the internet after checking out my website. Over a year later, just a few days before the wedding, I got to meet them for the first time. They were really down-to-earth and friendly and were really excited that their online planning had finally come full circle and that all the pieces for their wedding were falling into place. Michelle’s gorgeous dress: The girls and their dresses were so vibrant against the charming facade of the...

Tilly

After the wonderful beach photo session with Jamie, Tracy and Jim, I headed back down the south coast to celebrate their latest addition to the family – Matilda. Here’s a “before” photo of Tracy, three weeks before she was due: and with her beautiful new daughter: Matilda was so placid and peaceful in her daddy’s arms: This is my favourite – a precious connection between a father and his newborn baby girl: Congratulations Jamie and Tracy! Back to...

e-session – Samir and Pratiksha

Last Sunday I was supposed to meet Samir and Pratiksha for their pre-wedding shoot in the dramatic rocky beachside of La Perouse. My heart sank as I awoke to torrential rain, so I called and changed the location to Sydney city. I’d originally planned to shoot in QVB and Martin place, but I was secretly hoping to discover some interesting back alleys or indoor areas to shoot in (for those of you following my blog you’ll know I like to try something a bit different). I was not disappointed. Walls soaked in colour: A cheeky...

Baby photos – Lachlan

Kareen and Matt wanted some natural photos of their first born, Lachlan, to capture him at a time where changes happen so quickly. Look at those big beautiful eyes: One of my favourites – it looks like he’s about to throw a punch! Bedtime… such a peaceful moment: Back to...
